Attendance: Mudgee Public School will be implementing a range of strategies, resources, and supports, to proactively and collaboratively address school attendance. Each fortnight we will be sharing our MPS Attendance Spotlight focusing on whole school targets and working as a team to increase and promote positive school attendance. This will be shared in our fortnightly newsletter and via MPS Facebook page. Congratulations to Kindergarten with the highest attendance rate last week! Thank you to Year 2 with only 5 unexplained absences! A big thanks to Mrs George who is working hard behind the scenes collating this data to share with you all. Lets do our best to make sure we can all "Be Here Together". This ties in perfectly with our School motto - Friendship Through Learning.
Sandy Smith Memorial: Congratulations to 2E who have entered some wonderful photographs in the Sandy Smith Memorial Photo Competition. The competition is open to all ages, and all levels of experience, and our student's photographs are really incredible. The exhibition is open now at The Mudgee Art Precinct - pop on down and take a look, just like 2E did earlier this week.
Western Representation:This week, we have had some students off at Western Trials. Congratulations to Kaitlyn and Bella for making the Western Softball team. Congratulations to Levi for making the Boys Western Football team. Well done to all students who attended both trials.
PCYC Before and After School Care - Positions Available: There are a number of positions available at our Out of Hours School Care (OHSC) service run by PCYC here at Mudgee Public School. Here are the links below:
K-6 Athletics Carnival: Get ready for our exciting K-6 whole school Athletics Carnival coming up on Friday 28 June - that is only 3 weeks away! This is a fantastic day for all students to showcase their athletic talents, enjoy some friendly competition, and most importantly, build whole school spirit. On the day, we will be running a canteen and we're aiming to make this a great fundraiser with all proceeds going directly back to the school to help keep excursion costs down. We need your support to make this event a success! Parent volunteers are crucial, especially for helping in the canteen; however, I'm sure we could do with some parent helpers that can contribute to some athletic aspects for the day too! If you can lend a hand, please contact the P&C - mudgeepublicschool@pandcaffiliate.org.au
Shot Put, Discuss, Long Jump and 200m Trials: In relation to the Athletics Carnival, normally these four events are trialled at lunch time and the top 10 compete at the carnival. This year, we would like to see all students get the opportunity to "have a go" and will therefore head down to Walkers Oval before the Carnival in Stage Groups so that every student gets the opportunity to participate. Stage 2 and Year 2 will be heading down this Tuesday morning (11 June) and Stage 3 the following Tuesday (18 June). Students are welcome to wear their sports uniform, including their joggers, on the day. If your child is absent the day their Stage heads to Walkers Oval, and still wishes to be considered in one of these events, please let your teacher or Mrs O'Brien know. We will organise an alternate trial or a wildcard entry for those students on the day.
Waste Free Wednesday:Thanks to everyone for their support of Waste Free Wednesday. A reminder, moving forward, every Wednesday is Waste Free Wednesday. Lets keep doing our bit to raise awareness and do our little bit for the environment.
Kindergarten Enrolments:Just a reminder, that Enrolments are now open for 2025. If you have a child starting Kindergarten in 2025, please jump online and enrol. Please also share this with friends, neighbours and anyone else you know may be starting school next year.
Year 1 Bathurst Excursion:Our Year 1 students had a fantastic time exploring the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum in Bathurst earlier this week! It tied perfectly into our Science unit about dinosaurs! Reports from the teachers who attended was that the behaviour of our students was exceptional, with everyone enjoying a full day of learning and fun! A big thanks to Mrs Single for all her work co-ordinating the excursion, Mr Harris for driving the school bus (that helped keep costs down significantly), and also Mrs Caligari who was a last minute inclusion on the excursion due to unforseen circumstances. Thanks also to Mrs Leathem and Mrs Roberts for their support on the excursion too.
Thank you and have a lovely weekend and fortnight ahead!

Principal
Basketball PSSA: A massive congratulations and well done to both our boys and girls basketball teams who competed in the PSSA Knockout Competition at the PCYC in Mudgee on Monday 3rd June.
The boys played a tight game against Gulgong and came away with a close win. Gulgong -12 Mudgee - 16.
The girls were next and despite never having played together, and some never having played basketball before, they were great team mates and gave it their all. Final score was Mudgee - 18 Kandos 50.
The boys played the next round against a very strong Kandos team. Our Mudgee boys gave it their all until the end, and should be very proud of themselves. Final score Kandos - 66 Mudgee - 18.
Thanks to all the students who regularly turned up to practise and gave it their best, I'm very proud of you all!
Coordinator & Coach - Mrs Lucas (Teacher)

Principal's Awards
Congratulations to the following students on receiving a Principal Award or Deputy Principal Awards in the past fortnight.
Parents / Visitors that come to the school during school hours MUST report to the school office prior to visiting classrooms, and indicate the reason for being onsite. For safety reasons, and in case of an emergency, you may be requested to show ID, and complete any necessary paper work depending on the reason for your visit.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we ensure the safety of all students and comply with the Department of Education policy.
PICKING YOUR CHILD UP EARLY
In the event that you have to pick your child up early, we ask that you come to the office and sign them out. You can then go to your child's classroom to collect them.
If you need to make a change to student routine at the end of the school day, we ask that you call the office by 2.30pm. A message will then be provided to your child indicating this change.
CHANGE OF STUDENT DETAILS - IMPORTANT
It is important that the school have correct student contact details incase of an emergency, including residential address, parent/carer email, phone numbers and any additional emergency contacts. If you wish to check your student details, or wish to make any changes, please phone the office for assistance.
Sentral For Parents Portal - 2024 & beyond
Sentral for Parents Portal App is a new system of payment for our school community. We appreciate your continued patience and support as we are learning the new system. If you have already activated your portal account with a generated Access Key, thank you.
The Sentral for Parents Portal App allows you to pay online rather than sending cash with your child to school or coming into the office to pay in person. Further information to setup your portal is available on the Mudgee Public School webpage under the Make a Payment TAB.
It is really advantageous to have a portal account as more features will be rolled out in due course as we settle into the features that Sentral has available. Currently, student absences can also be explained through the App as well as making payments.
With all excursions, activities, events, and other miscellaneous items that have a cost associated, an invoice will automatically be generated into your portal, and you will be advised via email. Financial assistance is always available, please contact your child’s teacher or the front office if you need to discuss this. Confidentiality is always highly respected regarding assistance and payment plans are also available for all school events.
Furthermore, the invoicing system may send an invoice in advance of a note coming home with your child. Please ask your child for any notes so you are fully aware of the details around the event or activity you are paying for. DO NOT pay an invoice until you have signed and returned any permission/consent forms.
As always, we are here to help if there are any issues.
If you require an ‘Access Key’ to login, please contact the school office for assistance by phone 02 6372 2036 or email mudgee-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au .
