The letter below was sent to all users of our Before and After School Care Service at the end of last week. I will communicate with you any changes or updates as they come to hand.
Attendance Spotlight
Our school wide attendance rate for week 7 was 84.7%. Our school target is 90%!In week 7 our unexplained absences DECREASED from 180, to 138, OUR AIM IS 0!If your child is absent from school, please notify the school via the Sentral Parent Portal app, contact your classroom teacher, send in a note on your child's return or phone the school office.n Congratulations to Kindergarten with the highest attendance rate THREE weeks in a row, with Year 5 still hot on their heels! hank you to Kindy with the least number of unexplained absences, with 8! Remember the magic number is 0!Congratulations to EVERY grade this week, whose unexplained absences ALL decreased! Did you know? Parents of children from Kindergarten to Year 12 MUST ensure their children attend school every day.On occasion, your child may need to be absent from school. Justified reasons for student absences may include:
- Being sick or having an infectious disease
- Having an unavoidable medical appointment
- Being required to attend a recognised religious holiday
- Exceptional or urgent family circumstances e.g. attending a funeral.Parents must provide an explanation for absences to the school within 7 days from the first day of any period of absence. Where an explanation has not been received within the 7-day timeframe, the school will record the absence as unexplained on the student's record.
