Welcome Back: Welcome back to Mudgee Public School for Term 3. I am really looking forward to this term with so many exciting things on the horizon. Our staff started with a fabulous day with schools in the Cudgegong Learning Community, where we were engaged with Social Researcher Dr Claire Madden, who gave us some wonderful insights to Gen Z and Gen Alpha, and then we split into a range of differentiated workshops that aligned with teacher's Professional Learning Goals. It was a great day of learning, and all sessions were very relevant to supporting the academic and social outcomes for our students.
We have spent the first week back participating in activities related to NAIDOC Week. We had a wonderful time at the School Community Gathering and BBQ, and our Deadly Door Displays were so creative. We culminated learning today with our NAIDOC Assembly. See some pictures below from our Deadly Door Displays. A big thank you to Mrs Roberts for her co-ordination of the week, as well as Mrs Altimira for the video compilation which can also be viewed below. I am very proud of our school's work this week.

Attendance Spotlight: Mrs George has been busy supporting our Olympic Support Campaigne as well as our Attendance and has this important message:Get excited, MPS fans! It's time for the MPS Olympic Attendance Challenge! 🏅Each week of Term 3, we'll be recording the attendance rate for each class. Classes with an attendance rate of:
95% or above will receive 3 points
90% or above will receive 2 points
85% or above will receive 1 point
Points will be tallied throughout the term, and at the end of Week 9, we'll present podium prizes to the top three classes for Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Let's aim high and achieve great attendance this term! 🎉What will our podium prizes be? Lunch with Mr. Carters? An extra lunch break? A Teachers vs. Students Basketball match? The options are endless, and our students will decide in the coming weeks!Attendance is a team sport, so let's encourage our friends to be at school EVERY DAY THEY ARE WELL. Just like our favourite athletes, we need to work hard to play hard. Remember, EVERY DAY COUNTS! Attendance matters! 🏆
Jeans for Genes and Wear Green and Gold:This Thursday we will be doing our bit to raise money with CMRI Mudgee through the Jeans for Genes Day. We will also be encouraging students to wear a green or gold top as part of celebrating the Australian Olympic Team. So, we can all participate, we will wear our Jeans and Green and Gold tops on THURSDAY 1 August.
We would appreciate a Gold Coin Donation to go towards CMRI Mudgee and there will be a limited number of Yo-yos on sale at recess for $5 per Yo-yo.

Office News
PARENTS / VISITORS ONSITE
Parents / Visitors that come to the school during school hours MUST report to the school office prior to visiting classrooms and indicate the reason for being onsite. For safety reasons, and in case of an emergency, you may be requested to show ID, and complete any necessary paperwork depending on the reason for your visit.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we ensure the safety of all students and comply with the Department of Education policy.
SECONDHAND UNIFORMS NEEDED
Calling out to all parents & carers. We are in need of second-hand spare clothing for all aged students but, in particular, smaller sizes in shorts and trousers. In the cold wet weather, students do have accidents and, it is helpful if we can provide them with a spare set of clothes.
Many thanks in advance for your donations.
ATTENTION YEAR 6 PARENTS & CARERS
A few weeks ago, a package was sent home with every year 6 student wishing to enrol into Mudgee High School in year 7 next year. We ask that, you read and sign all necessary forms and, return them to Mudgee Public School, front office as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your co-operation.
PICKING YOUR CHILD UP EARLY
In the event that you have to pick your child up early, we ask that you come to the office and sign them out. You can then go to your child's classroom to collect them.
If you need to make a change to student routine at the end of the school day, we ask that you call the office by 2.30pm. A message will then be provided to your child indicating this change.
CHANGE OF STUDENT DETAILS - IMPORTANT
It is important that the school have correct student contact details in case of an emergency, including residential address, parent/carer email, phone numbers and any additional emergency contacts. If you wish to check your student details, or wish to make any changes, please phone the office for assistance.
Sentral For Parents Portal - 2024 & beyond
The Sentral for Parents Portal App allows you to pay online rather than sending cash with your child to school or coming into the office to pay in person.
It is really advantageous to have a portal account as more features will be rolled out in due course as we settle into the features that Sentral has available. Currently through the App, parents can notify the school of student absences, make online payments for excursions or incursions, and access Student Academic Reports to view and/or download.
The invoicing system may send an invoice in advance of a note coming home with your child. Please ask your child for any notes so you are fully aware of the details around the event or activity you are paying for. DO NOT pay an invoice until you have signed and returned any permission/consent forms.
As always, we are here to help if there are any issues. For further assistance with the App please visit https://www.sentral.com.au/parents
If you require an ‘Access Key’ to login, please contact the school office for assistance by phone 02 6372 2036 or email mudgee-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au .
