Miss Evie's Fundraising Day: The community is coming together once again to support Evie King, our Year 6 student bravely battling Leukemia. Tomorrow, Huntington Estate will host a special fundraising event featuring raffles, auctions, and live music, with delicious food provided by Mamacitas Mexican. All proceeds will go directly to Evie’s family to help during her intense chemotherapy at Westmead. We encourage everyone to wear green to show your support for Evie. Previously, our school held a successful fundraiser that raised nearly $6,000 for her, demonstrating the power of the Mudgee PS community. If you are free tomorrow, please join us again to make a difference for Evie and her family during this challenging time.
School Promotional Tours:I am super excited to announce our upcoming school tours aimed at prospective families considering Mudgee Public School for Kindergarten 2026 and beyond, along with new families who have recently joined our community. Join us on March 31st or April 9th at 9:45 am for an engaging tour led by myself, staff, students from our Media and Engagement team along with our school leaders. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore our vibrant and welcoming classrooms, discover our innovative initiatives and learn about the various activities we offer, from wellbeing practices and extracurricular programs to student leadership and creative arts. The tour will last approximately half an hour and while the target audience is parents, children are more than welcome to attend. We can’t wait to showcase what makes Mudgee Public School such a special place for learning and building friendships. Also, see below the link for Kindergarten enrolments for 2026.
P&C AGM Announcement:The P&C held its AGM on Monday night with a fantastic turnout, filling all positions on the committee. The elected members are: Myff Clarke (President), Peta Newsome and Paul Harvey (Vice President), Liz Channon (Secretary), Kirsty Crowe (Treasurer), Adelle Bungate (Out of Zone Representative), and Karen Schrover, Bindi Robinson, and Gemmah Johnston (General Executive Members). We would like to extend our most sincere thanks to the outgoing members for their commitment to our school, particularly to Chloe Smith for her outstanding service as Secretary. Congratulations to all on their new roles!
Yarn and Cuppa:You may have seen on Facebook, our students have created a special video invitation for Yarn & Cuppa, a community afternoon dedicated to connection, conversation, and plenty of tucker! Join us on Wednesday, 2nd April, from 3:30 PM at the Mudgee Public Infants COLA. This event is a fantastic opportunity for our Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families to catch up over afternoon tea and discuss learning goals for 2025 with your child’s teacher. We look forward to seeing everyone there
PBL Awards: It’s time to hand out the PBL Awards! If you are in line for a bigger award, please bring in your awards and send them to the classroom teacher by Thursday, 3rd April, which is the last day for submissions. The PBL Assembly will be held on Thursday, 8th April. For more information on the Positive Behaviour for Learning program and to see what you might be able to achieve, please visit the PBL section of our website at this link. I am looking forward to celebrating our accomplishments this term.
Kiss and Drop Zone: A big thank you to everyone for your cooperation and efforts in using the Kiss and Drop / Pick Up Zone. We appreciate your continued commitment to keeping our children safe. Please remember not to double park or wait for more than 2 minutes. It's especially important not to ask your children to run across the bus bay to your car. If the line is too long, consider taking a lap around the school or parking your car and walking in. The council will continue to monitor the area to ensure safety. They will issue infringements to people who aren't following the law. Thank you for your understanding and support!
Have a great weekend, and week ahead.

Attendance Spotlight
Did you know that every day counts when it comes to your child’s education? Regular attendance isn’t just about showing up, it’s about setting up for success
Learning & Growth: Every lesson builds on the last. Missing school = missing key learning
Well-being & Friendships: Being at school helps students feel connected, supported, and engaged
Future Success: Good attendance = Good habits for life. We love seeing our students’ happy faces in class each day Let’s work together to make every day count!
Another wonderful week in our Attendance Spotlight! Our Week 5 attendance rate is at 89.8% – JUST BELOW our 90% target! A great effort, with FOUR grades hitting 90% or above in their attendance rates! We have DECREASED our unexplained absences, this is AMAZING. With 29 unexplained absences during week 6. Let’s aim for that magic number zero. If your child is away, please: Email or message their classroom teacher via Class Dojo Call the front office or Use the Sentral Parents App. Quick reminder – Sentral will send an alert if your child is absent, so be sure to jump in and explain their absence. If a student is away for 3 or more days, their teacher will check in with families. Attendance is vital for learning and success! Let’s keep up the momentum and work together to ensure our students are at school every day they are well and able.
Remember, if you are not here, you are missing out.
