Mother's Day Breakfast Re-Cap: What an awesome morning we had last Friday at our annual Mother’s Day Breakfast. It really was a resounding success with over 900 food items prepared, which evidenced a huge turnout and such a friendly atmosphere. The artworks created by our talented students and families looked absolutely fabulous, and the professional photographs taken by KM Portraits were such a lovely touch—be sure to check them out on our Facebook page! A big thank you goes out to Jemma and all the volunteers in the canteen, as well as those who generously donated items for the breakfast; your support made this event possible. We also want to acknowledge everyone who helped organise the day, as well as the P&C for their always reliable support. We hope all the mums had a wonderful Mother’s Day at school and on Sunday.
Kindergarten Safaris: This coming Tuesday, all attention turns to our Kindergarten Students for 2026, where we will be holding our first Kindergarten Safari. All Kindergarten 2026 students are invited to join us Tuesday, 20 May, or Thursday, 29 May, at 10am for a fantastic opportunity to explore ourKindergartenclassrooms and get a feel for our school environment. Parents are most welcome to join students on theseSafaris, and there’s no need to book in advance! Additionally, we would like to remind everyone that enrolments for the upcoming school year are now open. Head to the Mudgee PS website to enrol online or visit the Front Office for a paper copy. We look forward to seeing you there!
Y-Safe: You may have seen on Facebook or via email from your child's classroom teacher that we have signed up with Y-Safe, an online Cyber Safety platform. It offers fantastic resources for teachers, parents, and students, and I strongly encourage you to explore it. As a parent myself, I understand the importance of staying informed to keep our kids safe in the online world. The school has designated a day to raise awareness, known as our Y-Safe Day, which will feature workshops for both parents and students. Please mark your diaries for Wednesday, 27 August!
Podcast: The Hive is back for a brand-new year and this year Mrs Sharpe has selected 10 Year 5 students to be our hosts for 2025 - 5 students in Term 1 and 3, and another 5 in Term 2 and 4.
For those who may have missed it, our first episode was recorded in Term 1, where we kicked things off poolside with our brand-new hosts Eliese, Wyatt, Annie, Sebastian, and Daniel. Our hosts dived into the fun and excitement of the school swimming carnival plus lots of other fun Term 1 activities. Also, don’t miss our special interviews with Nina and Jimmy, two incredible students who made it all the way to State Swimming!
Stay tuned for our next episode where our new Term 2 hosts interview the new Mudgee Network Director, Monica St Baker. I am so proud of the progress our podcast is making. Well done to all involved.
Peer Support: Peer Support started yesterday, and it was amazing to see our Year 6 leaders and Year 5 co-leaders doing such a highly commendable job! The Peer Support Program offers numerous benefits, including fostering friendships, enhancing communication skills, and promoting a sense of belonging among students. It's a fantastic opportunity for our older students to develop leadership qualities while supporting their younger peers. We are excited to see the positive impact this program will have on our school
Private Tutoring: We understand that many parents seek tutoring support for their children to enhance their learning. However, we want to gently remind everyone that tutoring should not take place during school hours, as this is considered unjustified leave. It’s important for students to be present in class to fully benefit from their education and adhere to legislative responsibilities. We appreciate your understanding and support in ensuring that our students are in school, engaged, and ready to learn every day! If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out.
Have a great weekend, and week ahead.

Library News
Book Club - Issue 3 orders have been finalised today. If you ordered something from Issue 3, your items will arrive in the next week or so. If you missed out this time, don't stress! Scholastic Book Club releases a new brochure twice a Term, so keep an eye out for the Issue 4 brochure!
PRC - The Premiers Reading Challenge is still going! I have had a few students complete the challenge, and their names will be put on the PRC Tree in the Library. If your child has misplaced their reading log sheet, there's still time to come to the library and get one from me to complete the challenge.
Yr 6 Hoodies - I have had lots of questions about the Yr 6 Hoodies and appreciate your patience while we wait for our order to arrive. I can assure you; they are on their way! We will hopefully receive them in the next couple of weeks.
Overdue books - We have a lot of overdue books across the school at the moment. Please return all your books so that others can enjoy the great resources we have at MPS Library.
Happy Reading!
