Mudgee Beginners - Kindergarten 2022
Mudgee Beginners started this week with lots of smiles and a buzz of excitement. Our newest Mudgee Public School students for 2022 had a wonderful time with Mrs Roberts, Mrs Kensey and Mrs Doyle in the BIG school classroom. Thank you to KN for lending us their classroom. We hope you enjoyed practising being in Year One! The Beginners engaged in some interactive play, painted their hands to print on their new library bag and drew some very detailed pictures of their families so that we can get to know them all. Receiving their official Mudgee Beginners t-shirts was most definitely a highlight! The staff are looking forward to more fun filled sessions of Mudgee Beginners next Tuesday and Thursday. Hopefully, we have some sunny spring days to explore the school playground. If you have a child starting school next year and you have not enrolled them in Mudgee Beginners, it is not too late, please contact the school office on Ph:6372 2036 to enrol.
Tell Them From Me Survey
Our parent survey window is now open for the 'Partners in Learning' survey. The Partners in Learning parent survey is part of the Tell Them From Me suite of surveys on student engagement. The parent survey helps to clarify and strengthen the important relationship between parent and school. The survey is anonymous and takes about 15 minutes to complete. If you don't have computer access we can organise this for you at school. Please click on the link below.
Mask wearing for students and staff
There has been a small change to mask wearing requirements. Inline with community expectations, it is no longer mandatory for teachers to wear masks outside. Masks remain mandatory for teachers indoors, and remain recommended indoors for primary students.
P&C Gingerbread House Christmas Fundraiser - The P&C is running a Gingerbread House fundraiser from 22nd October to 12th November. Take a Gingerbread House kit home to enjoy with family and create a tradition that everyone will enjoy. A joyous, creative activity to keep or give as a gift.
The youngest child in the family at MPS would have received an order form today so please check with your child or alternatively you can download one by clicking below. Orders can also be made online via QuickCliq at http://www.quickcliq.com.au/
World Teacher's Day
World Teachers’ Day will be celebrated across Australia on Friday 29 October 2021, a bit later than the international day due to our school holidays. It’s a chance to celebrate teaching and for communities to thank teachers. Teachers (with support from parents and carers) have ensured education continues across the country this year despite major challenges. It’s reinforced the significant role teachers play in the lives of children and students, their families, and communities.
You can say a big thank you to teachers by posting a photo in your sunglasses on Twitter or Facebook, either on your own or with family or friends. Use these tags: #BrightFuture @aitsl

Library News
Book Fair - It is happening! In week 5 students will be able to preview the Book Fair and bring home a 'wishlist'. If they are allowed to make purchases, parents can pay online and fill out the information on the back of the wishlists. Students will then need to return the wishlists the following week in order to receive their purchases. Alternatively, students can bring in money in Week 6 when they will have the opportunity to purchase from the Book Fair, in their Library time.
Overdue books - There are quite a few overdue books across the school, so I ask you to please check at home, and return them ASAP. If you have any issues with missing or damaged books, please let me know and we can sort something out.
From The Office
Payment Refunds - If an excursion, school performance, or student purchase is cancelled or illness prevents a student attending then parents have an option to request a refund. Payment refunds can be requested using the Student Refund Application form. Student payments that are in credit are held as 'Fees in Advance' for future school expenses. Credit receipts are provided to the student and families showing the amount of fees that are in advance.
PLEASE NOTE: A refund can only be made to the person who made the original payment. Refunds can only be made back to the original card for POP and EFTPOS. Cash or Cheque payments will be refunded via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). If you wish to apply for a refund please download the Student Refund Application form below, complete details and return to the school office. Once we have received your application, one of our friendly staff will be in touch to confirm and support the refund process.
Student Bus Pass Applications 2022 - Student Bus Pass Applications for 2022 are now open. An application will need to be submitted if you are:
1. Applying for a bus pass for the first time
2. Have changed your address
3. Are going from Year 6 into Year 7
4. Are repeating the same school year in 2022
We ask that parents plan ahead and apply for their child’s bus pass as soon as possible. This will ensure the pass is available at the beginning of Term 1 2022.
Applications should be submitted to the School Student Transport Scheme at transport nsw. School student travel | transportnsw.info
Student Health Care Plans - We have many students at Mudgee Public School who suffer from Asthma, Allergies and other health conditions. It is very important that we keep all our student health care plans up to date to ensure that we are aware of what procedures to follow should your child have an asthma attack, an allergic reaction or other health condition, where appropriate action needs to be taken. If your child has a health condition, please ensure that we have an up to date individualised Health Care Plan signed by the doctor. If you need assistance with this matter please do not hesitate to contact the school office. Many thanks for your cooperation in keeping our children safe.
Class Corners - 4D & 1R
CLASS 4D - Miss Donnelly (Teacher)
4D have had a fabulous time since coming back this term, getting to talk to our friends and being together in the classroom. We spent the first week revising our class rules and what is expected of us during school time. Then it was back to our normal routine each day. Students had worked diligently on their Biomes Projects during the Learning from Home time and brought their finished projects in to share with the class. The dioramas are amazing!
We have also been busy creating wonderful artwork to display in our classroom. The mosaic creations were related to the novel, ‘Blueback’, which we had been reading in Term 2 and continued this term. We combined Maths and Art to draw our ‘Roll a Picasso’ masterpieces. 4D discovered that not all Art needs to be a true representation of what is around us. Our Minnie and Mickey Mouse pieces were based on Romero Britto’s work. He used lots of patterns, designs and bright colours in his artwork.
CLASS 1R - Mrs Roser (Teacher)
In 1R we enjoy learning together. We take care of each other in the classroom and the playground. We have fun learning new things and being creative. We all share in each other’s achievements. We are a super class!
Staff Spotlight - Miss Karli McKinley
Hello!
My name is Karli McKinley. I am very excited to be welcomed into the Mudgee Public School community as a casual teacher over the last few weeks.
I have recently moved to Mudgee with my fiancée and baby daughter from the Hawkesbury area, where I was a classroom teacher for over 5 years.
Only being in town a very short time, I’ve been amazed by the caring and helpful vibe of the town and hope to meet new people and experience what Mudgee has to offer now we have come out of lockdown.
