What a fantastic turnout it was at last week's Mother's Day Breakfast. So wonderful to see so many mums and community members. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with many of you. It felt like a sense of normality having so many parents onsite. I hope all our mums and significant ladies had a lovely Mother's Day last Sunday.

Tennis Team
On Monday, our school tennis team took on Dubbo South Public School in the PSSA Western knockout competition. It was an extremely hard fought match. After six sets the score was even with three sets each and only one game separating the teams. In the final two sets, Mudgee Public steamed ahead to win both mixed doubles matches 6-2. Mudgee Public will now play Parkes Public in the Semifinals. We wish them all the best!

From the Office
HAS, OR IS, YOUR CHILD GOING TO BE ABSENT FROM SCHOOL
Just a reminder to parents/carers …..
If your child is absent for a day or more with an illness, please call the office to inform the school or send a note to the teacher.
If you know your child is going to be absent from school due to other reasons, please send a note to the teacher prior to the absence.
If your child is going to be away for 10 or more days, an Extended Leave Application Form is to be completed and returned to the Principal, or delegate. The forms can be obtained at the front office. Once the application has been approved you will be issued with a Certificate for Extended Leave.
LOST & FOUND
The lost property has been sorted this week and we have a mammoth number of jumpers, with no names. As the weather starts to get cooler, I’m sure your child will need a jumper. If your child has lost his or hers and needs a jumper for the winter months, please ask them to drop into the front office where we can provide them with a jumper. Please remember…. always write your child’s name on their belongings, we can then return any lost items directly to them.
Many thanks,
Your Friendly Office Ladies

Class Corner -4A History Projects
Last week, 4A shared their Histoy projects that they all worked so hard with! They were given the task of researching an early sea explorer. Students became experts on Willem Janszoon, Matthew Flinders, Abel Tasman and George Bass. We loved sharing our new knowledge with students from other classes and even Mr Carters! Well done 4A!

NAPLAN 2022
The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is a point in time assessment of literacy and numeracy skills. Students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 participate in the annual tests in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. All NSW schools will sit NAPLAN online in 2022.
Our school will be participating in NAPLAN between 10 and 20 May 2022.
In preparation for NAPLAN, our school has also participated in practice tests between 21st to 25th March, 2022. The practice test is a trial run and key preparation activity for NAPLAN in May. It is not an assessment of student ability, and the tests will not be marked.
