I would like to start by thanking all the dads and significant role models who joined us for our fathering project launch on Friday last week. It was so wonderful to see happy smiling faces, some of which we haven't seen for sometime. It was also fantastic to see so many dads join up to our Fathering Group. Mr Smith and Mr Lesslie will be in touch with what's available for that group.
Jump Rope for heart is in full swing at Mudgee PS with our anticipated Jump Off Day fast approaching.
So far Mudgee Public students have raised a wonderful amount. We aim to get to $10,000 and to do so you will need to register your chid: https://www.jumprope.org.au/parents
Happy skipping!
Kindergarten 2023, Additional Kinder Safaris and Jolly Gym Registrations
Keep the Kindergarten Enrolments coming through as the enrolments for 2023 are OPEN. We encourage all local parents to get on and enrol as soon as possible. Visit https://mudgee-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/about.../enrolment.html or contact the school office on 6372 2036. Information for enrolment for next term's Jolly Gym will be out this week. If you're on our email list, a link for registration will be sent out to you, otherwise stay tuned to our social media.
Lastly, we are going to run some extra Safari Tours for those that are interested. We will be doing Kindergarten tours the last two Tuesdays of Term. Tuesday 21 June, and Tuesday 28 June at 10.30am.
3-6 and K-2 had to postpone their athletics and cross country carnival last week due to the inclement weather.
The Athletics carnival will now be held on Tuesday 21 June at Walkers Oval from approximately 9.45am.
The K-2 Cross Country has been rescheduled for Thursday 23 June at 12pm. This event takes place on school grounds.
Parents are most welcome to join us for both of these events.

Cudgegong Learning Community Art Show
The Cudgegong Learning Community is made up of all the schools in the Mid-Western council area, plus a few more surrounding schools. We are looking at holding a student art show in Education Week at the Mudgee Arts Precinct with an opening night on Monday 1 August. As this coincides with Education Week, on the evening we are looking at presenting awards for general contributions made to school communities by students, staff (SASS and Teaching) and parents. The exhibtion will be open all week for students and families to go and view. I will share more details as they arise.
Cricket.. A summer sport?
At the time of writing this section of the newsletter, it is 7am Tuesday 14 June and its -2, with a feels like temperature of -4.5. At the same time, Mrs Endacott is preparing to take our boys cricket team to Walkers Oval to take on a combined school side called Nashdale in Round 4 of the PSSA Boys Knockout. I'd say today is a day to leave the Zinc at home and find the white vest. Good luck to our cricketers in their match.

Meet the Staff
My name is Emily Skewes and I am thrilled to be back working at Mudgee Public School after being on maternity leave for the past year. For the rest of the year I am lucky enough to be teaching 2GM on Thursdays and Fridays and some of our other lovely Year 2 classes on Tuesdays. I have two young children and love to play tennis, travel to new places and of course, teaching! I look forward to re-connecting with the students and the wider MPS community.
