What a wonderful turn out on Tuesday at our Father's Day Breakfast! It was such a joy seeing families bond over bacon and eggs, as well as making new connections in the school community. While these events can often be challenging, difficult and sad for some families - we celebrated the contributions of Dads, Father figures and significant role models in our school. Thanks for joining us and we look forward to you coming to school again. Thank you to all those who worked behind the scenes and helpers serving our breakfast. Happy Father's Day for Sunday! Huge Thank You!!
A massive thanks to all the wonderful mums and dads who volunteered in the canteen last week at the NSW PSSA Rugby Union Carnival. The menu was amazing and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Our fabulous volunteers served copious amounts of food to over 1 thousand plus people for 3 days of breakfast, morning tea, lunch, snacks and everything in between. Thank you all for giving up your time, your efforts and also to make the school shine. A big thanks to Tracey our canteen manager who was a driving force behind this operation. Congratulations to our MPS P&C - Amazing effort!!!
Staffing Update
We have some news with some staff members who will be moving on from Mudgee Public School next term.
Mr Tom Baddock, teacher of 5/6B, will be moving on from Mudgee PS next term, as he takes on a new career challenge in the mines. Mr Baddock has been a wonderful teacher who has positively impacted the lives of many Mudgee PS students with his friendly and calm demeanour which is evident in his classroom and day to day interactions with the students. Mr Baddock has always been one to ensure no child misses out on any opportunity, often volunteering to take sporting teams and many extra-curricular clubs in his lunch time. Recruitment is underway to replace Mr Baddock, and I will inform you of his replacement once this is finalised.
Mrs Tess Lewis has been working at Mudgee PS as the Assistant Principal Curriculum Instruction in the Primary area of the school. Mrs Lewis has recently secured a promotion as a Curriculum Advisor for the Department of Education. This is a 3 year secondment; and whilst we will miss Mrs Lewis, this is a wonderful opportunity for her; as well as a great resource for many schools to have access to. We are nearing the final stages of replacing Mrs Lewis for the rest of 2022; and I will inform you of that outcome shortly.
I would also like to wish Mrs Amy Gallagher all the best, who begins her maternity leave on Monday as they prepare for the arrival of Baby Gallagher #3. All the very best, Amy and family.
School Disco
The staff and P&C are combining to provide a disco for our students. More details to follow, but save the date of Thursday 15 September.
P&C Meeting
The next P&C meeting is this coming Monday night at 6pm in the school library. Please come along and have a say in your child's education.
SASS Appreciation Week
This coming week is School Administrative and Support Staff Recognition Week, a time to acknowledge and thank the often unsung heroes in our public schools.
Our SAS staff play an important role in the school community. They are often the first people you see when you enter a school and their work adds to your child’s time at school, enabling our teachers to perform their role to the best of their ability.
SAS staff work in school offices, in classrooms and libraries and maintaining and caring for school grounds and buildings. They are often the ones to tend to students when they are unwell and they ensure the efficient management of school financial and administration functions.
Please join me in thanking our amazing SASS team here at Mudgee Public School.

Class Corner - KF
This term KF have enjoyed exploring fairy tales as part of their literacy unit. They can now sequence familiar fairy tales, identify the setting and characters, role play and write about their favourite fairy tale. KF are starting to identify the messages we learn from the different fairy tales. And of course, they are creating fabulous artworks to show their favourite parts of the story.

Class Corner - 5/6L
Term 3 has been busy for 5/6L!
Year 6 had a great time on their excursion to Canberra, and Year 5 began the term with leadership training. We enjoyed a visit to the CLC Art Show at the new Arts Precinct, where we also saw the installation exhibition ‘In Flight’. As we are learning about Asian geography and cultures this term, we created colourful lotus flower art to decorate our front door. 5/6L practised and performed the song ‘My Island Home’ at our NAIDOC week assembly, and we welcomed lots of family visitors into our classroom for Education Week Open Day. We also dressed up as book characters for book week. Here’s a few photos of some of these highlights:

From the Office
PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS
When students need to take prescribed medications at school, parents are required to complete a “Request for support at school to administer prescribed medication” form. Where possible, a letter from the Paediatrician should also be provided to the school. Medication, in a webster pack or the original pharmacy packaging, indicating the students name, type of medication and dosage should be handed into the Administration office by the parent. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
MAKING SCHOOL PAYMENTS ON-LINE (POP)
A reminder that ALLschool payments can be made on-line via the school website. Excursion permission notes MUST be returned to the class teacher for students to attend. Instructions for using POP(Parent On-line Payment), can be found in the link below, or if you have any questions please contact your friendly office ladies!
