I would like to start this newsletter with my highlight of the fortnight - Peer Support Program. It has been absolutely fantastic seeing our students from Kindergarten to Year 6 working co-operatively and harmoniously as they explore the theme "Keeping Friends." Our Year 6 leaders are really stepping up and are displaying caring and steadfast leadership. Seeing our Year 6 students in action is truly inspiring. Congratulations to all of our leaders and students - Keep up the good work!!

Pink Up Mudgee and Down Syndrome Awareness Day:
Today we ran our Pink Up Day to support two very special causes - PINK UP Mudgee and Down Syndrome Awareness CT21. Students wore pink, purchased pink treats and made a coin line to raise funds for each of these initaitives. At the time of publication we were still counting the money raised. Thank you to all who supported today's fundraiser. More images can be found on our facebook page - Facebook

Staffing Update:Stage 2 Relieving Assistant Principal: As mentioned in week 1 newsletter, Mrs Meers is relieving as APCI thus Mrs Keiran Muller and Mrs Bronwyn Wheeler will be relieving as Stage 2 Assistant Principal for this term. Mrs Muller is having her last day as relieving Assistant Principal today, with Mrs Wheeler relieving as of Monday until the end of the year. Thank you Mrs Muller!
Tell Them From Me:
The Parent Tell Them From Me Survey is now open for ONE MORE WEEK - until 4 November 2022. We would really appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback on how we can make Mudgee Public School the best possible learning environment for your children.
7th Support Class: As we start planning for 2023, some exciting news is that Mudgee Public School will be establishing an additional support class. We are hoping that this class is established to begin the 2023 school year. The provision of this class will see an increase in support for students in the Mudgee Community. One of the other positive implications is that we will gain a Deputy Principal Inclusion and Support Position. The Deputy Principal Inclusion and Support is a strategic, non-teaching, leadership role dedicated to inclusion, with a focus on leading improvement in the learning, wellbeing, and independence of students with disabilities. The Deputy Principal Inclusion and Support shares the broader educational imperatives of the Deputy Principal position but with the explicit focus of driving a school wide culture of inclusion, including high expectations and improved outcomes for students with disability.
I hope to be able to begin recruitment for this position shortly.
Canteen Roster:
I also mentioned this last week, but we are searching for volunteers in the canteen. Please see if you can help out on any of the weeks listed below.
Community Liaison Officer (CLO) 2023: It was announced at our P&C meeting last week that Liz Halbisch will be leaving at the end of the year. Therfore, the CLO position will be available. An advertisement will be up in a couple of weeks time. Feel free to share with community members or people you think might be good in this role.
In essence, the main role of the CLO is to: "Support Mudgee Public School in building a vibrant, tolerant and harmonious school community. The Community Liaison Officer works to support school communities in the development of approaches to improve social, emotional, health and educational outcomes for students."
If you'd like more information, feel free to get in touch. Keep your eye out in the next newsletter for this advertisement.
Trauma-informed Community Presentation:On Monday night, Allison Nipperess from Mudgee Psychology ran a very informative parent toolkit talk on how we can become a positive trauma-informed parent community. The recording of this presentation is below. It is well worth a watch to explore how being a trauma informed community will help our children and our school.
Week 4:Next week I will be out of the school all week. On Monday and Tuesday morning I will be at the Year 4 camp (which I am super excited for!!) and from Tuesday afternoon to Friday I will be at the Australian Primary Principal Conference in Sydney. I will also be away Monday 7 November working on a recruitment panel for another Department of Education position outside of the Mudgee Network. Mrs Rogers will be relieving as principal in my absence.
World Teachers Day:Today is World Teacher's Day and I would like to thank each and every educator at Mudgee Public School for their caring and tireless work. I am proud to work at a school where the teachers always put the students' best interest at heart and work collaboratively to support one another as they go above and beyond the role that is required. We truly are incredibly blessed here at Mudgee PS. A big thank you to our P&C who provided our teachers with delicious personalised cupcakes for Morning Tea today. Hats off to all our teaching staff!
