Today, we held our Remembrance Day Service and I would like to start by acknowledging the high level of respect that was shown by our student body. Students sat beautifully as they listened to readings, poems, and work from 5/6J and 1S. What a remarkable job they did! Remembrance day is such an important day across the world, but it's particularly important in schools as our students reflect on and learn of the sacrifices made many years ago.
Lest We Forget
Pink Up Mudgee and Down Syndrome Awareness Day:Last fortnight, we held our Pink Up Day and also raised money for Down Syndrome Awareness. I am pleased to announce a little over $1250 was raised for Pink Up Mudgee; and $750 for Down Syndrome Awareness. What an incredible achievement! Well done and thank you.
Stage 2 Camp:What a joyful experience it was attending Stage 2 camp last week in the Blue Mountains. The activities were fantastic, students were awesome and the teachers provided first class care as always. I am so proud of the students for the way they embraced the camp and I congratulate all those who were nervous with their first night away. They're definitely ready for Year 5 camp next year. A big thank you to the staff and parents who volunteered to go on the camp, giving up time away from their family to do so.
Planning for 2023: Planning for 2023 is well underway and we are currently working through possible class / grade structures so that we can plan effectively. We really need to know if you are aware of anyone who is coming to Mudgee Public School. If you know you are leaving, please also let the front office know.
One of the possible structures we are looking at for 2023 is returning to straight cohorts for Year 5 and 6 rather than composite classes (excluding the A-stream class). This depends on numbers across the school and how that fits within the staffing formulas we work under. At this stage, we believe that this will suit the needs of the students. I welcome any feedback about this possible suggestion.
In the next newsletter I hope to be able to share staffing updates and possible class / grade numbers.
Community Liaison Officer (CLO) 2023: Last week I mentioend we will be advertising for a Community Liasion Officer for 2023. The position advertisement should be published over the weekend, and I will share the link once it is.
Please contact me if you have any interest or questions about the role. The advertisement closes on Friday 26 November.
Canteen Roster:I also mentioned this last week, but we are searching for volunteers in the canteen. Please see if you can help out on any of the weeks listed below. Year 5 and Year 2 are up over the next fortnight. Thanks to those who have helped!
Best Wishes:Next Friday will be Mrs Muller's last day for the year as she begins her maternity leave. Mrs Baddock will be teacher of 3M for the remainder of the year. I would like to wish Mrs Muller and husband Andrew all the very best on the safe and healthy arrival of their baby. We look forward to meeting the new addition to the family.

Students in 5/6E were asked to think critically and creatively to ‘morph’ a shoe into another object. They had to;
choose a shoe
research the history of the style of footwear
create a morphed version of the shoe
complete a creative writing piece about the shoe or the morphed object
present their work to the class
This project involved lots of wonderful problem solving and thinking… and the results need to be seen to be believed. Wow, what a wonderful collection of morphed projects … well done to all the students.

As you can see there are mountains of jumpers that have been found without names. Even though the warmer weather is upon us, you should still have a jumper at hand should there be a cold snap!
If you are missing a jumper or are in need of one, please come and see the lovely ladies in the office and they will provide you with one.
REMINDER……. Please make sure you label every item of clothing so we can return any lost property to the rightful owner.
