MPS Newsletter - Week 7, Term 4 - 25 November
Principal's Report
Our Presentation Day is just around the corner! THURSDAY 8th December. The presentation will again take place during the day time with Years 3-6 at 9:45am and K-2 at 12:00pm. Parents of award recipients will receive a personalized invitation next week. For now, please keep the date free and I look forward to celebrating all student achievements this year.
5/6E Night of the Notables: I thoroughly enjoyed my visit last night to 5/6E’s Night of the Notables. A really fabulous showcase of what public education is all about with students and their parents celebrating really rich learning.
Each of the students were tasked with researching a notable inventor. They had to become an expert in all things related to the inventor and their invention.
Dressed in character as the inventor, they delivered a presentation to their families.
From Mary Anderson to Thomas Edison and everyone in between. We had the inventor of shopping trolleys, x-ray, VR and the piano all covered.
Well done 5/6E … congratulations!
Executive Update: We have recently ran expressions of interest for relieving Executive positions in 2022. Mrs O'Hara will continue as our additional Deputy Principal in the primary and Mrs Meers will continue to relieve as Assistant Principal Curriculum Instruction. Mrs Caligari will relieve as Early Stage 1 AP and in Stage 2 we will welcome to our school Mr Grant Hough as relieving AP. Grant will join us from Abbotsford Public School where he has spent the last 4 years on their school executive. I’m sure Mr Hough will feature in an early newsletter next year. Please join me in welcoming Mr Hough.
