Presentation Day:Once again, what an honour it was for me to attend our Presentation Day which is an event that is held with great pride, prestige and high value by our staff, students and parents. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the day so special and a huge congratulations to all students who received an award. A full program of award recipients as well as some photos are below.
2023 School Captains:At Presentation Day, we also announced our School Leaders. I will do a more thorough introduction next year, but congratulatiosn to these four outstanding students.
Meet the Teacher:On Friday, students will meet their anticipated new classmates and teacher. We have been working incredibly hard to ensure we have the best possible balance of dynamics from an academic and social perspective. We try and consider which students will work well with different teachers and the student friendships that have been formed. I know many parents have made requests and whilst we try and accommodate these when there are extenuating circumstances, I just want you all to know that at times it just isn't possible.
Next year we will hopefully operate with 21 mainstream classes, even though our numbers entitle us to 20 mainstream classes. We will use school funds to make this class operational and hopefully there aren't too many changes over the holidays. If this is the case, I will communicate with you all in the first couple of days back.
Stationery Supplies- Once again, we will be providing the majority of stationery for our students in 2023 so there is no need to go and buy a whole heap of extra supplies. Students in Years 1-6 may like their own pencil case with the basics in it, eg pencils, rubber, sharpener, textas etc (and pens Year 4-6) but all of that will also be provided. Other than that, there may be some small supplies requested by classroom teachers in the early weeks. Kindergarten students do not need to bring anything – just their smiling selves 🙂
Staffing Update:
Kylie Duffy - Support Unit Deputy Principal: As most of you are aware, Toni is taking leave next year to pack up the caravan and set off around Australia! As you are all also aware, we have been working hard behind the scenes to back fill Toni whilst also working hard to establish our 7th Support class. It is with great pleasure that I can inform you that Kylie Duffy (Assistant Principal Special Education from Gulgong Public School) will be joining us as Relieving Deputy Principal Inclusion and Support. Kylie comes with a great deal of Special Education teaching and leadership experience and is excited to be joining our team.
Welcome new staff members: Next year we have multiple new staff members set to join us - Mrs Alice Barnett (North Rocks Public School), Grant Hough (Abbotsford Public School), Michelle Prater (Abbotsford Public School) and Lucy Roberts (Hargraves Public School) are all joining the Mudgee Public team.
Moving on: As many of you would be aware, next year, Mrs Endacott will be temporarily moving to Gulgong Public School to take on a new challenge. Kelly will be an enormous loss to our school as a highly valued teacher with 18 years at the Mudgee Public School crease. I know Kelly will greatly miss Mudgee Public School and I know that teachers, parents and students will join me in wishing Kelly all the very best in 2023.
Mrs Liz Halbisch, our Community Liaison Officer, is also moving on. Liz and her family are moving to Nowra. Liz has been such a valuable asset in the CLO role. Its a valued role that has been performed so incredibly competently, which has also evolved over time. Liz has been a wonderful advocate for our school helping build a vibrant culture and to improve social, emotional, health and educational outcomes for students.
All the very best to Kelly and Liz in their new roles.

Class Corner - Peer Support
Final Peer Support 2022 Students across the school have had a really positive experience with Peer Support this term. With the help of their Year 6 leaders, they learnt about how to make friends and how to maintain positive friendships and some nice games to play with others. The teachers have been impressed with the level of maturity and organisation shown by the Year 6 students throughout the program. Abbey: 'My favourite part of Peer Support was learning what it's like to be a teacher.' Bella: 'I loved getting to know my group and since starting Peer Support, I have had younger students approach me in the playground just to say hello. It's really nice.'

Year 3 Dunns Swamp Excursion
Students in Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their excursion to Dunns Swamp last week. They engaged in a variety of activities including canoeing, orienteering and bushwalking. It was fabulous to explore such a beautiful place and hear students discussing the importance of looking after it. A huge thank you to the team at Red Hill Environmental Education Centre for their hard work planning activities and running each day.
